Common questions
How is bandwidth billed?
Two options. Flat-rate bills a fixed committed rate. Burstable uses 95th percentile on 5-minute samples at the port, inbound and outbound metered separately and billed on the higher. Attack traffic is excluded from both.
Is DDoS mitigation included?
It is an option on every IP Transit & Ethernet port: order it managed, take just the generic layers for less (partial), take the controls at our edge (custom), or take the port without it. On a mitigated port, attack traffic is dropped in our own forwarding path before it reaches you and excluded from billing at every commit tier, by default, with no attack-size tier and nothing to configure. That is a commercial commitment about incentives, not a claim of infinite physical capacity.
What contract terms are available?
We offer monthly, annual, and multi-year terms. Longer commitments come with lower per-Gbps pricing. Month-to-month is available at a premium.
Can I deploy at multiple locations?
Yes. Your commit is pooled across locations rather than tied to one port, so you can split traffic across Ashburn and Frankfurt under a single contract.
Do you provide SLAs?
Uptime, time-to-mitigate and false-positive commitments are contractual and set out in the service level addendum to your agreement. We publish the figures when we can stand behind them.
How quickly can I get connected?
A GRE, IPsec, IPIP or QUIC tunnel can be onboarded in hours. BGP over a cross-connect you already have takes 1-2 business days. A new cross-connect takes 5-10 business days, depending on the facility.
What happens when I submit an emergency request?
Our 24/7 NOC team is alerted immediately and will contact you to begin mitigation. Tunnel onboarding over GRE, IPsec, IPIP or QUIC is a matter of hours, and attack traffic is filtered from the moment we establish connectivity.
