Today we're announcing the deployment of four new Points of Presence in the Asia-Pacific region: Singapore, Tokyo, Mumbai, and Sydney. These PoPs are now live and available to all Wirescope customers.

Why APAC

The Asia-Pacific region represents over 50% of global internet users, yet it has historically been underserved by DDoS mitigation providers. Many vendors operate a single PoP in Singapore or Tokyo and backhaul APAC traffic to US or European scrubbing centers — adding 150-300ms of latency in the process.

For our customers in the region — and for our global customers with users in APAC — this is unacceptable. A gaming company in Seoul shouldn't have their traffic scrubbed in Frankfurt. A financial services firm in Mumbai shouldn't accept 200ms of added latency as the cost of DDoS protection.

What we deployed

Each new PoP follows our standard architecture:

  • Carrier-neutral facilities: All four PoPs are deployed in Tier III+ data centers with diverse upstream connectivity and redundant power.
  • Local IX peering: We're connected to SGIX, JPNAP, BBIX, Megaport, and IX Australia, with additional IX connections coming online in Q1 2026.
  • Private backbone connectivity: All APAC PoPs are connected to our global backbone via dedicated Nx100G links, with full mesh connectivity between the four sites.
  • Full scrubbing capacity: Each PoP is equipped with our custom ASICs for hardware-accelerated packet processing. No traffic backhauling.

Latency improvements

For customers in the APAC region, the impact is immediate:

OriginPrevious (nearest PoP)New (local PoP)
Singapore85ms (LA)2ms
Tokyo110ms (LA)3ms
Mumbai130ms (Frankfurt)8ms
Sydney160ms (LA)5ms

What's next

These four PoPs are the beginning of our APAC expansion. We're planning additional deployments in Hong Kong, Seoul, and Jakarta in the first half of 2026, along with increased capacity at all four initial sites.

If you're an existing customer, your traffic is already being served from the nearest PoP — no configuration changes needed. If you're evaluating DDoS mitigation providers and APAC performance matters to you, we'd love to show you what sub-10ms scrubbing latency looks like.
